The Quality of the Light
By Megan Chaskey
There is, now, an unprecedented rate of of vibration running through every fiber of our variously perceived reality. There is a deepening and widening of the polarization throughout all of our experiences. I see it in the way any one day can carry the best and the darkest in its unfolding. The edges that we believed before to be solid instead are now breathing. This, in the most unexpected ways, has increased beauty in everything. We all notice the quality of the light. Yes, it is spring. Yes, the sun has come out after intense rains. But the light is vibrant. It sluices a powerful energy into our bloodstream, sunlight fluid, that releases just the right amount and quality of life force, prana, to bring our rate of vibration into consonance with the higher levels that we will need in order to be able to negotiate this new way of being as the days unfold. I feel patterns evolving inside that release older patterns put in place by the stories that peopled our past.
With the intensity of the light pulling on our deepest inner structuring in a magnetic dance with the darkness, each and every moment of our day, we are making choices which have never been so dramatic even if it only seems to be about how we react to a person in passing. We are being given the most intense opportunities of our lives to meet again and again with those who bring out the worst in us or the best in us. I am experiencing it. I see others experiencing it.
I went with my mother to visit a wonderful artist who will be 100 years old in August. She looked better than the last time we were there. She could speak and respond and understand and remember just exactly who we were, as well as being able to ask about my daughter. At one point she looked at the two of us and asked, “Do you have men at home?” It was the most marvelous question, a question that was so vital not because this was the most important detail in the lives of two women, mother and daughter, and not to endorse the way that society creates the idea that a woman must have a man to be worthy, but because she was on the edge of her life, in this wonderful transparent state, looking forward into the light, and at the same time looking at us, in the midst of the stream of our lives, me at my age with children almost all gone from the home and my mother with grandchildren from me and my brother.
She was asking about our relational lives. She was asking about our relation to light. I mean that her view was based on a deep experience of light literally, as her skin was so transparent, and her eyes were focussed like the eyes of a being of nature and her words were formed by a mouth that had once spoken as easily as a breeze. Her whole being was full of light. There was a sweetness, a distilled sweetness, in the best way, from the patternings of her thoughts and feelings and actions all through her life that came through as quiet joy. How can someone lying in bed at almost 100 years old settle into that kind of state other than through the choice over and over through her years to go in the direction of the light.
Then, she said, “I have been declared the most intelligent painter!” What greater seal on a life, a life of art and blessing and love, could there be. She carries a century in her delicate body and the light that abides through every breath if we but choose it.
Isn’t this what each of us would be before the Source of our life? To be declared the most intelligent? Because it is that intelligent spirit at home in the center of us that needs the affirmation of its power and uniqueness while in relation to the symbolic “other” at home, whether this be a real person or the embodiment of “other” in some other sense. So it is in every interaction we are choosing how we will be in that transparent state.
Notice the quality of the light right now. Where are you at this moment and how does that light open the most intelligent soul through the constellation of your being?

Wahine Women’s Fundraising Paddle
KamaDeva Yoga & Paddle Diva are Paddling to Raise Money for a Great Cause!
Sunday, July 11
Dear Friends -- I am excited to announce that I will be paddling in Paddlers for Humanity’s Wahine Women’s Fundraising Paddle on July 11th. Your support would mean so much to me. Paddlers for Humanity is an all volunteer, non-profit organization based in East Hampton that raises funds and awareness for worthy non-profit organizations, and provides help to local individuals and families in need of medical or financial support. The organization also bestows scholarships to area students who have shown great promise. The funds are raised through a series of sporting challenges, primarily paddling and running events.
Please Sponsor KamaDeva Yoga/Paddle Diva Here!
The Wahine Paddle is a women’s-only, 2-hour paddle from Lazy Point in Amagansett to Fort Pond Bay in Montauk. The event encourages participants to take on a personal challenge, while raising money for The Retreat, a women’s domestic abuse shelter located right here on the East End. The Retreat’s mission is to provide safety, shelter and support for victims of domestic abuse and to break the cycle of family violence. They provide help for hundreds of families each year. Your support is greatly appreciated.
The Process™ Continues with Gregory Scherick
Generate Flow & Abundance into Your Life!
Sunday, July 11 and August 8
The Process™ is a spiritually-based technology that permanently transforms unwanted beliefs at the very bedrock of origin. It represents a radical new approach to healing that effortlessly unravels entrenched, stubborn behavioral patterns unaddressed by traditional practices such as psychotherapy, religion, new age thought, and other established approaches to wellness. The arrival of The Process heralds a new era in psycho-emotional rehabilitation that may one day prove as significant as the revolutionary discoveries made by mental health pioneers more than a century ago.
Adventures in The Process™ Part Three:
'Abundance ~ Sound Your Note!' By Shana Kuhn Siegel
This article is one in a series chronicling Shana Kuhn-Siegel’s adventures in a revolutionary healing technology called The Process™. The Process™ was founded by Gregory Scherick and is currently being offered through workshops and private sessions.
"Abundance is a significant theme in my life right now. I am experiencing so much these days as a result of this powerful work that I am doing called The Process. A year and a half ago, I met an extraordinary man, an alchemist really, in a barn in Cotati, California. That meeting would change the course of my life. Greg Scherick is his name and the more work I do with him, the more I realize that he is a life giver, a time stretcher and a magician. Flawlessly, he has helped me to challenge my destructive belief systems and transform my life into one filled with limitless success... "

Much Love and a Happy Summer!!!
In closing, many many thanks to Sarah Tomlinson for spending a Saturday afternoon at the studio, drawing the 'ghost' of the outline of the Tripura Bhairavi Yantra (the KamaDeva Yoga Logo) on the wall of the studio... check it out the next time you are there... it was a labor of love, and took her about three hours to complete.... soon, it will be painted, but for now, it just invites this female goddess energy into the studio in the most subtle way.... JAI MA SARAH... you have been the most beautiful, quiet support from the very beginning. THANK YOU!
Remember, KamaDeva Yoga is committed to making Yoga accessible to ALL, no matter WHAT. Those of you devoted to this practice have likely seen the profound benefits of it in your own lives... please tell your friends, your family, and anyone else you come into contact with... if you get a friend to purchase a 10 class card or higher, you receive a FREE CLASS (for yourself or someone else!)
Sending you all so much Love and Happy Summer!!!
