>>> Peak-Season Pass: July & August Unlimited Yoga $540 <<<
Summer is Here!
We are super excited for everything that is going on at KamaDeva Yoga through these next two months... We have two great workshops scheduled already over the coming months: Jenna Minardi's Dream Weaver workshops, and a Headstand and Shoulderstand Workshop with Chrissy Carter that will be sure to advance your practice - All levels welcome!
Maria Cutrona and Nianna Bray are also joining our schedule to round out our summer offerings so that you can truly nourish yourself on the deepest level of your being! Come join me on the water as well for a liquid yoga experience like no other… the comment following yesterday's SUP DOG YOGA class was, "pure bliss."
As many of you know, as much as I LOVE Yoga and teaching Yoga, I am also an avid athlete, participating in triathlons, surfing, and stand up paddle boarding... I have recently started SUP racing, which has been really fun and challenging... to become a stronger and faster paddler, I have learned that it is VERY much about skill and technique. We are thrilled that 10 time winner of the 32 mile Molokai Channel crossing, and all around amazing waterman, Jamie Mitchell, is coming HERE to the Hamptons to offer us SUP clinics from July 9-15. In conjunction with Adam Kelinson of Organic Performance, these clinics will provide unparalleled instruction about everything SUP, as well as the what, when, and HOW to eat to excel in any physical endeavor. View details and REGISTER HERE!
Enjoy these first weeks of summer.... the ocean is slowly warming up, the local blueberries are bursting with flavor, the farmers markets are open for business. As much as summer in the Hamptons can be stressful, overcrowded, and busy, it truly is what we make of it. We create our own reality, we create our own experience, moment to moment. We plant the seeds which we will see ripen in the future. Step back for a moment, and make a conscious choice about what summer will look like for you. There are plenty of opportunities to drop into stillness. Whether by walking in the woods, taking a swim in the ocean, or getting on your mat and connecting deeply to the sound of your own breath...
Om Shantih Shantih Shantih Om Peace Peace Peace.....
Happy Happy Summer!!!
In Service,
Jessica and the KamaDeva Yoga Family
Focus of the Month
"Seva" by Jenna Minardi
Seva is the Sanskrit word for selfless service. “Service which is given without consideration of anything in return, at the right place and time to one that is qualified, with the feeling that it is one’s duty, is regarded as the nature of goodness.” – Bhagavad Gita 17.20
So how do you go about giving back without consideration of anything in return? Even perhaps the joy or good feelings you might have in doing good deeds? I would have to admit that when I began the process of setting up these give back days at KamaDeva Yoga, there was an excitement and joy that kept me motivated. I did not EXPECT to feel good, however one could imagine how easily this might occur. So we have to go to that honest place inside to ask what motivates us. This reminds me of a teaching from Baba Muktananada in which he says “do not judge your actions by their results; the only thing that matters is your inner state; everything else is dust." So perhaps this is a calling to a higher purpose in your life, one in which we cultivate an inner state that is aligned with service, service to all in all that we do. So what if it is not about who we are serving but what we are serving? Might it be the highest good in that moment? Might it be the Divine?
From this place all motives dissipate into the dust and we become truly aligned with a place in our hearts that says, if one survives well, we all survive well, because I am you and you are me. Should we not then serve ourselves first? I would say have to say yes. Can you serve the highest good in your life? Unconditionally love yourself? Would this be a wonderful practice to see if we did serve the highest good in our lives that it might propel us to serve others selflessly? It is from this place I hold the intention for a month of selfless service to ourselves , serving the highest good in our nature, to love ourselves unconditionally and then to let it be.
In conjunction with KamaDeva Yoga, Jenna Minardi's Dreamweaver Yoga classes on July 20th and August 6th will be designated GIVE BACK YOGA classes, in which proceeds will be donated to incredible East Hampton organizations such as I-TRI, The Retreat, and others. 20% of proceeds from her Dreamweaver workshops will also be donated to this foundation. The GIVE BACK YOGA foundation's work is to support, inspire, and fund certified yoga teachers to become spiritual revolutionaries – to step out into the neglected and underserved corners of their communities and give back through the gift of yoga.

NEW WEEKLY CLASS:
The Six Paramitas Thru Breath & Asana with Maria Cutrona
Tuesdays, 6:00-7:30pm (Beginning July 10)
Paramita means perfection in Sanskrit. In Tibetan it means "to cross over to the other shore". The Paramitas then are the qualities that lead one from a sea of sufferings to the realm of enlightenment. In Buddhism there are six perfections to practice: generosity, kindness, patience, joyful effort, stillness and wisdom. We will use meditation to cultivate the awareness of the giving heart. Using breath and asana we will aim our practice for the highest: extending these perfections from our heart to others.
Dates: Tuesdays, July 10, 17, 24, 31 and August 7 and 14.
Cost: This is a regular scheduled yoga class. Drop-in $27
(class cards/memberships welcome)
Location: At KamaDeva Yoga in East Hampton.

8 practices derived from a lifetime of seeking to develop personal awareness and awaken our true hearts desire. Then to weave those awakened dreams into our destiny. With ritual, movement for body and soul and opening doors to the mystical and sacred, we journey together to commune with the Divine within us all. Teachings from the study of Yoga and the Native Indians of South and North America and other mystical traditions. PS. I'm still happily and dutifully building my family, just with more grace.
